“Find your passion.”
“Pursue your passion.”
“You have to have a passion in life.”
“Live passionately.”
Have you come across these phrases? Quite often they appear on my readings and they make me think. They raise more questions for me. They almost force you into believing that finding a “Passion” is an active pursuit rather than allowing or unfolding process. They make you feel like life isn’t worth living without it. If you aren’t passionate about something, you are a looser! But is this the case?
Passion is not something we are born with. Passion is something that discovers itself to you. Passion is cultivated over a time as we go about our lives. If you are lucky, you may discover it early in your life what you’re passionate about. Or it may take a lifetime!
What if you don’t know what your passion is?
What if you feel passionate about more than one thing?
Passion is emotion. Emotions change and so does passion. Passion is fluid. Passion is not to be confused with momentary excitement or elation.
What if you feel passionate about something today and not tomorrow?
Can you still live a fulfilling life if you don’t have a passion as such?
I don’t know.
What if you pour your full focus and attention into whatever you do in this ever distracted world instead of stressing on finding what you are passionate about? — It may very well lead to a life that is truly and passionately lived!
Don’t get me wrong. Passion is a beautiful life energy. Passion brings purpose. But it is also equally important not to get so fixated on the idea of it or over conceptualize it. If you don’t have one, its okay too. You don’t have to try to manufacture it. You just have to keep your heart open. If you know what your passion is and living it, you should be immensely grateful for it. You are in a great place.
