We are all going to die!
Some events leave you shaken. You cannot put any logic on it. They make you think and reflect. I still think about the Flight MH 370 and about the people on board. Its been a month and we can’t put any reasoning on the event. Not a single person on board would have thought in their wildest dreams that the journey they were about to begin — will be their last!
Such drastic events give you the perspective in life. It tells you what is really important in life and what is not. Often you get so busy in daily life that you think you are in control. Often you get tricked in believing that you know where you are going.
You take life for granted. You sweat small stuff. You complain. Relatively insignificant things/events take over — that late train, traffic jam, challenges at work or someone said something that offended you etc etc.
But what if your doctor tells you today that you are terminally ill and have few days left in you?
Then — would you care if your train is late or bother thinking about the person who doesn’t treat you well? The uncertainty of life brings you to LIFE. The awareness of this uncertainty will strip off all the psychological garbage that you carry. It will teach you what is primary and what is secondary in life. It shows you the bigger picture of life. Yes, you know that you are going to die someday but how often you consciously remind yourself or think about it?
If you consciously remind yourself at least once a day about the fact that you are going to die one day, you will lead a different life than the life you are currently living.
When you think about the death, there are two possibilities:
- FEAR kicks in and you become fearful OR
- You become FEARLESS
Either you resist the thought or embrace it.
Embrace it.
Make the most of your time here because you don’t know how much you’ve got!
Just do what you want to. Drop the small shit and be happy.
Be grateful!
